L’Agence Nationale de la Sécurité du Médicament (ANSM) annonce l’autorisation prochaine, d’ici la fin de l’année 2024, de certains traitements à base de cannabis médical en France. Ces médicaments, visant principalement à traiter la douleur et l’anxiété, seront disponibles après une expérimentation entamée en 2021.
Autorisation et Cadre Légal
- Loi de Financement de la Sécurité Sociale : La loi de financement de la Sécurité sociale du 26 décembre 2023 a ouvert la voie à cette autorisation en mentionnant les traitements à base de cannabis dans ses articles. Ces médicaments devront être autorisés individuellement pour une période temporaire de 5 ans par l’ANSM, sans nécessiter d’approbation de la loi européenne.
- Statut Particulier : Les traitements à base de cannabis auront un statut particulier, devant répondre à des demandes spécifiques fixées par l’ANSM et le ministère de la Santé.
Expérimentation et Résultats
- Expérimentation en Cours : L’expérimentation menée depuis 2021 arrive bientôt à son terme. Elle a démontré une amélioration de l’état de santé des patients et de leurs symptômes dès trois mois de suivi.
- Maintien pour les Patients : Les 3000 patients déjà traités depuis plus de 3 ans dans le cadre de l’expérimentation continueront à avoir accès au médicament jusqu’à son autorisation officielle.
Usage Actuel et Futur
- Usage Actuel : Depuis 2021, certains médicaments à base de cannabis étaient déjà autorisés en France pour traiter des douleurs neuropathiques, des formes d’épilepsie pharmaco-résistantes et d’autres situations médicales spécifiques.
- Sélection des Médicaments : La prochaine phase implique la sélection par l’ANSM des médicaments à autoriser avant le 31 décembre 2024, pour une prescription possible pendant cinq ans. Les traitements sous forme d’huile ou de comprimés seront privilégiés, tandis que ceux en forme de fleur de cannabis seront progressivement retirés de l’expérimentation.
