Il peut passer plusieurs jours d’affilée sans dormir ou très peu, accumulant un retard de sommeil colossal. Ce manque de sommeil ne fait qu’accentuer les troubles de l’humeur.

Elle commence une tâche et n’arrive jamais à la terminer. « Pour cause, lorsqu’elle se trouve en phase maniaque, elle a envie de faire plein de choses, elle a une énergie débordante qui la pousse à se lancer dans tout un tas de projets. La personne se livre à un véritable monologue. « Elle n’a plus de filtres, elle dit tout ce qui lui passe par la tête, ce qui peut avoir des répercussions sur l’environnement et pour elle-même« , commente le spécialiste.
  4. Elle passe de « très timide » à « très sociable ». D’un naturel plutôt réservé, la personne bipolaire devient, en phase maniaque, subitement très à l’aise dans les relations sociales. Elle aborde les gens avec une facilité déconcertante, peut organiser des soirées avec des inconnus… « Il y a des périodes en inhibition et d’autres en exaltation, on est dans du tout ou rien« .
